All of a sudden colossal vines have started spawning all over Tyria, particularly targeting waypoints, you and your companions have to push further into Dry Top to find both their origin and how you’ll go about stopping them – well you best get started!
Entanglement, the next episode of GW2’s Living World, was just released and continues where the Gates of Maguuma update left off. If you didn’t read what I thought about Gates of Maguuma then click here, click I say!
Four new sections have opened up in Dry Top, offering some new and beautiful looking scenery. Treadrock Uplands and Unswept Uplands are much the same as Prospect Valley, including the brilliant Zephyrite crystal exploration. Uplands Oasis and Cavern of the Shining Lights on the other hand add more diversity to the area. Uplands Oasis is just as it sounds: a much needed oasis in an otherwise arid landscape. Cavern of the Shining Lights is stunning, even by GW2’s high standards: with a wonderful ethereal feel and a good dose of Asuran architecture, I would happily spend an hour just wondering up and down taking in every detail.
Unidentified Fossilized Insects can now be looted from the much sought after Buried Locked Chests. They serve as the major component for a new series of weapons, which also use Ambrite, another new component to Dry Top. Speaking of collectible items, there is also another 30 lost coins to scrounge, scrimp and scavenge from the area.
There are also a few new hairstyles available for each race and gender, if you like that sort of thing.
Entanglement has continued to drag me back into GW2, and I couldn’t be happier about it: not so much kicking and screaming as smiling and applauding. I can’t wait to see what they do in the next update, and with their fortnightly update schedule I won’t have to.
